In pomp and purposeful pageantry that signaled its next corporate horizon, Nigerian outdoor advertising agency, Afromedia marked its 50th anniversary on Friday, October 23, 2010 at the Jasmine & Iris Hall of the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.
As guests arrived at the event, they were welcomed by Elizabeth R ushers who led them through a lush orange carpet lobby beautified with framed photos of the company’s past and present directors. The K-Square Security crew was on guard as guests transitioned onto a Cocktail Lounge where the celebration kicked off with a colorful cocktail party. (hmmm....i like this part)!!
The MCs of the night Ali Baba & Tee A eventually invited the guests into the hall for the main event. Prayers were said and the national anthem was performed and then the fun began! There were insightful speeches and then great music as D’Banj, Dr SID, D’Prince and 9ice got the crowd on their feet! Prizes were awarded to the winners of the Afromedia Creative Arts Contest, the MCs delivered wisecracks on stage and dance group Explicit also performed. Long service awards were presented to deserving staffers including the MD/ CEO, Akin Ire Olopade who has spent over 15 years serving the company.
Other high points at the golden anniversary gala were the MD’s speech and the launch of the company’s new logo which was creatively presented via a unique holographic display. The display which was organized by Ibidun Ituah-Ighodalo‘s event management company Elizabeth R is the first of its kind in Nigeria. The aim of the new logo and high tech display is to rejuvenate and reiterate the corporate reputation of Afromedia as Nigeria’s leading outdoor advertising agency.
